Looking for advice please!!

We recently claimed mis-selling of out TMPP with Halifax....they acted very quickly and have come back with a standard offer letter offering a refund of the Mortgage Repayment element of the TMPP.
We also want to pursue mis-selling of the other 2 components (life and critical illness cover), but can we agree to the refund of the Mortgage Repayment element, cash the cheque, and ask Halifax to further investigate the other 2 elements????

Thanks for advice in advance :)

Halifax have been rolling over quite easy on the PPI part of their TMPP. Often doing so where there are no grounds for complaint.

You can complain about the other parts but obviously most PPI complaint reasons wont apply to life assurance and CI as they are very different products. Plus, they are set up correctly (monthly premium, not part of the debt) and most people take them out because they have a financial need. So, are much easier to justify. You have to show a lot more wrong doing with life assurance and CI than you do with PPI.

In theory, if Halifax have decided to auto pay out on your PPI complaint and you ask them to do a full review of the policy then you could potentially have the whole complaint rejected if they find no wrong doing on any element of the plan and they could withdraw the current offer. So, it could be a gamble.

What are your reasons for complaint on the life assurance and CI?
Was the PPI complaint upheld for a strong reason or is it a goodwill offer or just a short response saying they are paying out?
