New bank

In my normal half stupor as walking through the station this morning but as going along the escalator I am sure I saw an advert for a "new bank" with a strapline about being built on morals (or something similar).

It certainly wasnt the Metro but didn't see who it was. Anyone else shed any light on it or will I have to try and remember to look for the poster again on Monday?

Think you'll have to look again on Monday (if you can remember, lol)

Some candidates I can think of:

    Shawbrook Bank

    Bank on Dave

It's not a new bank but the Co-op will be new to many High Streets with the acquisition of branches from Lloyds. Perhaps it could claim to be "new" as when detergent brands claim to be "new" when they change their product.

I would be more impressed if they said they wanted to make money and thus stay liquid. I think they protest too much.
  • M&S Bank opened their first branch in Marble Arch last month (according to the web) - not sure whether they've started advertising though (and the web suggests that, unsurprisingly, they're pitching themselves as fashionable/premium rather than moral)

Triodos Bank (whom I can personally recommend) have an advertising campaign at the moment - could be them?

Have to cross lots of fingers on remembering for Monday morning to both go that way to the office and remember to look.

It wasnt a brand I'd ever heard of so not going to be Lloyds/co-op or M&S etc

Certainly wasnt Bank on Dave as it has more formal looking branding. Could be Shawbrook as the colours/ style look closer but I think if i saw the name again it would remind me so dont think it is them.

    Edit:
Likewise with Triodos (as per Shawbrook)

It would unlikely that it was the Burnley Savings and Loans on the grounds that (a) they don't have a banking licence and (b) have had enough free publicity on C4 not to need to pay for advertising

Shawbrook isn't really a 'new bank'; its Whiteaway Laidlaw rebadged.

Could be. I understand that the Lloyds branches are going to rebranded as 'TSB'. That might count as new.
M&S Bank opened their first branch in Marble Arch last month...

M&S Bank is HSBC. Nothing new there.

This one mentions "build" and "do some good in the world"
