Train travel from Durham-Kings X

Right, bear with me coz this is complicated!!

I need to travel from London - Kings X on Thu 5th Apr (1 x adult)
I wil then collect two step children and return to Durham (1 x adult, 2 x step children)

On Tues 10th April, OH will take step children back to Kings X (1 x adult, 2 x children) and then return to Durham (1 x adult).

Any tips on getting the cheapest/best deal?
Any discount codes for family rail cards?

The cheapest I can get is £214.40 (inc family railcard @ £20). Why BM won't let us drive I don't know?!?!

thetrainline is offering a £5 a ticket (over £20) discount at the moment (code LTTL5D) which might help you a bit.

Look at singles as well as returns if you haven't done so already.

If you can travel on the Wednesdays I would expect it to be a bit cheaper (but I haven't checked)
