halifax bank account

I applied for the halifax current account on wednesday i didn't request an OD but i've not had nothing back no email i thought i'd at least get a thank you for applying email but no. i have got an alert regarding them searching my credit files but only an identity check. I wondered how long halifax take from start of application to finish ?

It takes them about a week to write to you.

It takes 5 to 7 working days for them to write to you to say if you have been accepted / not accepted.

Though when I opened mine a debit card arrived before any paperwork telling me I had been accepted.

I can't seem to think of a reason for them to decline me but banks can do as they like i didn't ask for a OD as i don't need one so hopefully i'll get it. thanks
