  • Good evening! It's a lovely night tonight :) Reporting in for a spend today of 21.80 at Mr M and Mr T (majority Mr M as had a voucher to use). I got lots and am finding my costing spreadsheet is helping a bit - particularly when it comes to sticking to the shopping list. I did buy an additional carton of passata as it's 29p and will get used probably later in the week. It also included quite a lot of baking stuff as I'm being called upon to make a coconut cake for the weekend. :D

Yum. Hope everyone has a lovely evening and is OK. Off to update my sig now.

    K xx

Three days in and just £7.55 spent. If we hadn’t had grandson today that would have been only £4-90 spent - still last day today for a while as he back at school tomorrow, the other two start the day after.

Made some bread yesterday that went horribly wrong and has now been fed to the birds, made some more today and its lovely so not sure what went wrong there but these things happen sometimes. :o

Will probably need some potatoes tomorrow but very little else. Here’s hoping anyway. :rotfl:

    Hello everyone :j

I've been lurking for the past month or so and have decided to join in this time!

I thought I was a pretty savvy spender but since being more aware of my food spends the past month I think perhaps I'm not as good as I originally thought.

I run my budget in calendar months and give myself £160 a month for food but to be honest have no idea how much I spend.

So, I'll set my first budget this month at £160 and update in my sig whenever I spend. This is for 2 of us and includes all food, toiletries and cleaning products etc.

So far I have spent £11.43 in MrA and £17.63 in MrS. Then an additional £4.41 tonight on some bits I forgot at the weekend.

So...£33.47 so far. Hoping for NSDs for the rest of the week!
  • Evening everyone,

Reporting total spends so far of £75.35, having been shopping in L!dl, Mr T, Aldy, B&M, Sainsbugs and the local butchers! Went to Sainsbugs specifically for their offer on washing liquid which should keep us going for a while.

I'm trying a new system this month, and have taken my £200 out in cash which I'm keeping in a separate purse so I can see it disappearing in an attempt to stop me spending! I've done the Aldy and the B&M shopping for the month (hopefully) as these are more out of the way for me to get to so thought shopping for the month in one go would make much more sense. Only thing is now that there isn't enough room in the cupboards to store it all so I've had to stash it round the house :rotfl: . This has the added advantage of OH not being able to eat it all in a week though!

Hope everyone is doing well this month. x

Just popping in to update with my first shop of the month - £12.19 in Mr T. After investigating the fridge, cupboards and freezer I discovered plenty to make do with this week and only really needed F&V, toilet rolls, squash, cans of diet coke for work and dog food.
I get paid on the 14th this month (a week Friday) so will try to have minimal spends until then to try to compensate for some rather carefree spending over the summer hols:o

  • Hi Everyone,

Thought I'd better update my spends so far this month. Kids go back to school tomorrow so spent £18.77 today on lunchbox stuff in Tescos.

Am hoping spending will reduce drastically now they are back to school.

Think I have spent approx £100 so far this month but need to double check.

Another 75p on a loaf of bread on the way home, managed to buy only the bread and NO TAT! Yay!

Not that there was anything worth getting, but yaknow :p
  • Spent £7.18 today, and only just noticed that one of the special offers in the supermarket didn't kick in so I was overcharged. :( Will have to go back tomorrow and see if they'll rectify it.

Was lucky to find reduced bread, reduced cherry tomatoes and reduced apples. Pondered whether to bring the apples or not as I don't eat much fruit at all, and hate to waste anything regardless fo the price (they were reduced to 10p, a bag with 8 small green apples) then rememebred I could make an apple cake so in the basket they went.

Siggy to be updated soon. :)
