Picking my puppy

very exciting :T
Just my personal opinion but I would not pick the most confident puppy or the most shy I would go for one in between. With a shy pup you may end up with a nervous shepherd and with the most confident you may end up with a very strong minded dog.

I would just spend as much time as possible with them, you'll know the right one for you when you meet him.0

How exciting! I've read the same as Shepherd1. Best to go with the average pup rather than one who's the most confident, or the most shy. I'd recommend 'The Perfect Puppy' by Gwen Bailey. I think there's a section on choosing a puppy in there.0

When we went to pick Oscar there was 3 boys left all of them came running to us at once. The only way i could decide after spending a good hour with them was one went outside and did a little wee and poo and he came home with us. Have great fun choosing and cannot wait to see pics.
Gettingready love the pics of Zara.0 -

This site gives a very comprehensive series of tests that can be carried out by a breeder to ascertain the "personality" of each pup in a litter. It wouldn't be practical for you to test all 5 pups, but it might give you an idea of a couple of things to try with some of them to help gauge dominance and sociability."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -
Thanks everyone

Glad to hear I am not annoying anyone- I think I suffer from something, anxiety maybe cos i constantly worry that people are annoyed by me ....
I am really excited.
Not sure if he will be long or short, short I think though as I think the 2 longer haired pups are girls ( even they arent long haired just longer than short..)0 -
Good Luck Con
be thinking of you next week

Agree with the others Con......the dog that's meant to be will soon make himself known to you.

(which is why I always get the scaggy leftovers at the dogs home).0 -
I had three boys to choose from, and the first one growled at me, the second struggled to be put down and then the last one, my little Jack, snuggled into me...and chose me!0
