Problems with natwest please help!

Hi,
Basically i have 3 accounts with nat west - 2 savings and a basic account had them for 5 years no problems. Basic account is joint account with my partner.
Yesterday i recieved a letter from nat west "business collections" saying that nat west no longer wish to provide me with banking facilities (on joint account), called them to be told that it is due toa £44 unauthorised over draft on a savings account and a "issue" with a linked party.
I have set up a payment plan for the £44 (just over a month) and my other half called them today to find out what the issue was with him ( we thought maybe a business account he had years ago). To be told there is no issue with him just with me? Surely they wouldnt close my account over £44. I requested to have partners name removed from account incase he has a debt we are not aware of. But they say any arrears he owes can be taken from my account even if its just in my name because i was financially linked. Can they do this? Im concerned about having my wages paid in in case they take a chunk of them and i cant pay my bills.
Sorry its long and hope someone can help

Get your partner to get a copy of his credit file. Why did you have an unauthorised overdraft on your savings account ?
If you've had to set up a payment plan to repay £44 then is sounds as though you're struggling ? What are the arrears you have on your joint account ?0 -
Basicallyn my mum had lent me some cash she paid it in when they had the system probs and i thought she had paid £90 in but actually shed only paid in 45 and it was a system error.
Its not a plan as such they have just given me until the 7.9.12 to pay the 44 back.
Im on a fairly low income working but with tax creds housing benefit etc and have 3 kids.
Weve checked credit files both of us nothing there.0 -
no arrears on joint account at all in fact its in credit0
