Phone lost, claimed for loss, getting no where

So I sold a phone on eBay and the buyer received the phone, without the phone ie: it came with the box and the charger. Originally, Parcelforce picked it up and it was stuck at Leeds for a long time. It was declared lost first. I called Parcelforce Leeds, along with the buyer and eventually it started to move along the network (Guessing it wasn't lost at all)
The buyer received the item, minus the phone (After a long time)
They opened up a PayPal dispute, and I had no real choice but to refund them after I communicated with them, and they told me that the phone was not in the box. They showed me pictures where the parcel was broken etc...
The buyer lives in Dublin, and I've been in contact with parcelmonkey for nearly 2 months now. Thread below:
[Link redacted because any one can post to the thread, and it's not set up to view only]
I realise that the item could have been stolen any where from the parcelforce collection driver, all the way up to the buyer themselves, but I'm not getting much communication from them.
What can I do? I insured the phone to the full amount, before I dispatched it

I've never used Parcelmonkey/Parcelforce, but whoever you paid to send it, you need to raise a claim for compensation from them.0

Someone at Parcelfarce stole a laptop I sold, it was stolen from the Post Office! Did get compo.0

Check your insurance, as the carrier payout for a lost/stolen item will be very little, so unless you can prove it was stolen and not lost then the insurance would be the way to go.
If covered you should be ok as the buyer is agreeing with you it was an empty box so they will have to pay out if you were covered, just make sure to tell the buyer to keep the packaging as they will most likely want to see it.0 -
Now you've found out why these carriers are so cheap. Two months - and the rest - is only the beginning. parcelmonkey do everything they can to avoid paying out. They are the ones who insured you.0

I covered the phone for the full amount. Also, when I phoned parcelforce, they were happy with the buyer just submitting pictures. Parcelforce told me it's between me and the buyer, about what to do with the packaging. The buyer then sent the empty packaging back to me0 -

Thanks for that. Didn't realise that you could actually do that, but I posted a message in incognito mode and it didn't ask me to log in, so I suppose you're correct0
