So the op is stating they are driving a car with known illegal tyres?
If you can not afford to keep a car road worthy and legal then do not have one, harsh but true.Google gives you answers use it.........0 -

You can keep a vehicle off a road without an MOT and this would include car parks whether public or private. What I would not be sure of is whether "a road" under RTA would include "a road not maintained at public expense"....which is what "a road" is defined as under VERA0 -
I think it is true that knowing your tyres are illegal means you shouldn't drive the car regardless of MOT.
Another option would be to buy 2nd hand tyres.0
