Enter this month's Where Are You? competition and you could win a holiday for two at Cap Maison in St Lucia. The prize, worth about £3,000, includes seven nights' accommodation in a Garden Room or Luxury Villa, daily breakfast and one dinner for two (excluding drinks) at The Cliff at Cap Restaurant, British Airways flights from Gatwick to St Lucia and transfers. This wonderfully crazy art stall sprawls across stone steps trodden by human feet for around 8,000 years. It is situated in the ancient citadel of one of the oldest cities on earth, occupied at various times by the Sumerians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Sassanids, Medes, Romans and Ottomans, among others. Although it lies in the north of a war-ravaged country, the city itself is thriving. New-found wealth, accrued from vast gas and oil revenues, has transformed it into the country's main gateway for business, banking and tourism. Last year the region even began appearing in lists of the world's top travel destinations. I think its Baku, Azerbaijan, though I don't know if the region where the art stall is located has a more specific name.

[STRIKE]I think it is Beirut, Lebanon.

It is one of the few places in the world old enough and it has a citadel. The area was occupied by all those listed and is in a war ravaged country (although I would say it is central rather than North). It is thriving based on recent oil & gas finds and has always been a banking centre, and is appearing in lists of best places to visit. It has the developments described and is one of the places referred to as the new Dubai. Beirut has been trying for a F1 grand prix for over 10 years.[/STRIKE]

Tentatively named Azerbaijan Tower, the planned 1,050 metre structure will dwarf Dubai's Burj Khalifa to look over Baku's largest development project which is planned to include dozens of artificial islands and a Formula One race track.
