Will claiming Pension credits interfere with Mortgage insurance paying out?

Do mortgage insurers still pay out if you are made redundant and claim 'pension credits' rather than 'job seekers allowance' ?

If anyone has any inkling please let me know.

Thanks,

Jim

If you are not actively seeking work and signing on then you are not classed as unemployed but retired or choosing not to work.

so, yes, it would make a difference as you only get paid out if you are unemployed.

If you can claim pension credits, doesn't that mean you're beyond the expiry age of mortgage payment protection insurance?

Thanks for that. I did take a look at the Governments website and it did look like you might be able to get JSA & the Pension credits 'side by side', i.e. still getting the relevant paperwork stamped etc, so I think this is what I'll need to look into before going to the Mortgage protection people.
