Group bookings and increase in price

I'm trying to organise a stag weekend for a party of 20 to somewhere in eastern Europe. After using moneysavingexpert's flight checker, I have found prices of less than 80 pounds return. Have now got together the cash from everyone and was about to book a flight, but upon inputting the number of travellers to 20, each individual flight has doubled in price! This flight was with Ryan air but experiencing this with most air companies. Is there any way around this? What if I split the group into several bookings?

there are so many flights at price a, then so many at b etc
there could be 5 @ £30, 5 @ £40 and 10 @ £50
If you put in a 20 it will automatically price them all at £50
Just play about the numbers so you can find the number at the lowest fare then the number at the next fare0 -
The best way to do it is phoning the airline and asking them the cheapest way0
