I'd tell him you'll come and pick them up, but you request a discount at 33p/mile for the extra return distance.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Have you seen samples of the resulting photos?

It's possible the photos are so bad that he actually doesn't want you to have them.

Just in case you didn't have enough to worry about

rdless of what they ordered. That keeps them sweet for later ..,

I suppose this is another case of Look, I have a camera and suddenly they has become some superlative colour supplement photographer.

Grinds my gears as well. I've seen so many acquaintances who bought decent cameras when they were at Uni now churning out awful wedding photos all of which have the same 'history brush' effects. Terrible.

One that made my jaw drop last week was a guy on Twitter who was advertising his son, a keen photographer, who will happily shadow your professional photographer and provide his own pictures for £30. The kid was 11!!

I pointed out that if he genuinely wanted experience as he claimed he'd be doing it for nothing, but added to this I'm sure the professional photographer doesn't want a child under his feet while he's working.

Seems wedding photography is the latest big money scheme.

An 11 year old lad and his father too, how cheeky is that!
This photographer who won't hand over the pics wasn't called Phil by chance? Or the company called Darkhouse Pictures? If it was then you will have to go through small claims court with numerous other people to reclaim your money :(

Thank you all so much for your comments, which really helped to gather my thoughts before speaking to him again.

An update... he eventually agreed to leave it at his brother's, who lives in the town he moved away from (which is much less of a drive). This brother then rang to say he was putting it in the post... but now nothing for 10 days and not answering calls, grrr!

I'm reluctant to name and shame because he was so good on the day, just obviously has no idea how to run his business in terms of aftercare. It's hard to hold people to account when they are self-empolyed and offering services- probably would have been better asking a friend!
