PHI/Income Protection, CRU and PI compensation

Hi
I wondered if anyone might know if it is possible to reclaim deducted incapacity benefit on income protection benefit payments after a CRU recovery has been applied to a personal injury compensation claim payment.
To explain in more detail.
I have been claiming on my Income Protection (IP) policy for some time now after an accident which pays me a monthly benefit. This is unsurprisingly deducted by the amount of Incapacity Benefit (IB) i recieve each month.
- In fact meeting the incapacity benefit entitlement is a requirment of the insurance poilicy.
I will recieve compensation for my personal injury at some stage which will be then be deducted by the total amount of IB i will have recieved to date. This is recovered by the DWP's CRU (Compensation Recovery Unit) automatically which effectively repays my incapacity benefit to the state as money i have had in advance of the injury claim.
My thought is, as my income protection has been deducted by the monthly IB then this will be effectively paid back by me as a statutory requirement can i then reclaim from the insurance company's their deduction of this amount.
Any thoughts - or who to ask?
Thanks
P
