Paying off your statement with a bank transfer?

I have a Halifax One credit card.

I'd like to have the option of simply making an online bank transfer to pay off my credit card statement, but after looking into it they seem to only allow it is you pay from a Halifax current account and not just any old bank account, as my main bank account is with Natwest.

But I'm sure I'm aware of a way existing where you simply make the standard transfer using your full card number as the reference to an applicable account number and sort code. But I just can't seem to find the details in order to do this.

Ideas anyone?

  • You should be able to make an online payment from any bank account by BACS. have a look on the back of the statement and it should give you the account number and reference number you have to use for these transactions.

Last time I looked on the back of my Halifax Credit Card statement it gave very clear instructions on how to do this.
