So, my old Panny compact camera got lost during our house move and I want a replacement. I want to spend about £100 on a 'family' photos' camera
'Must' requirements:
* Costs close to £100 budget
* Good lens - fast (f2.8 would be good)
* Rechargeable
* Accepts SDHC cards
* Zoom of at least 3x
'Would like' requirements:
* Wifi/Bluetooth communication to iPhone or Android
* Zoom of up to 5x
* Image stabalisation
* Well known brand
* HD video recording
* Large sensor size
* Reasonably compact in size
'Not important' requirements:
* Large zoom (greater than 5x)
* High megapixel sensor
It's mainly to be used for pictures and videos of the kids, in the house and on days out
So.. anyone got any hints? It's the 'wifi' bit I'm struggling with - there doesn't seem to be too many around. I can also add a bit more if it's from play.com (as i've got a £25 voucher)
I am tempted to ditch the budget and get this little beauty for £199.. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00400OK52/
So far, the closest I can find is this: http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/canon-powershot-a3400-is-compact-digital-camera-black-12338232-pdt.html

I like a decent zoom so went for a Lumix TZ18, been superceeded but still on sale.

No bluetooth so would not suit Dr Cooper.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
How about a Samsung SH100?
5x Optical zoom
HD video
Wi-Fi
Can't remember what type of cards it takes. A friend bought one when her old camera died just before a holiday. It was very much buy what she could at short notice rather than an informed choice.
As it turns out she couldn't be happier, snapshots are good and she's happy with the video and it's small and light.
I think it was just over the £100 mark but seems to fit the bill.One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -

Just bought my OH a Nikon L26 for under £60 from Currys. 16MP, f3.5, SDHC, AA Bats (inc NiMh rechargables), 720p video, 5x optical zoom, anti-shake, no bluetooth but does have eye-fi compatibility (whatever that is!). Maybe not exactly what you want but we're pleased as punch with it, the only annoyance being that it's nearly as good as my expensive DSLR!0

hmm f5.8 is a tad slow at 4x zoom
I'd quite like a 50mm f1.8 fixed lens compact.. I think i'd need to get a Leica for that though!
ok.. one more. I found this at an astonishing price - http://cameraparadise.com/Nikon-Coolpix-P310-Digital-Camera-1198-GBP.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shop&utm_campaign=ukfeed&tid=ukgshop
Has anyone used 'cameraparadise.com' before?0
