Comprehensive General Liability Insurance

Hi All
I’m the director of a small UK Ltd Company that is about to sign a contract to work in Algeria for two weeks – two or three time a year.
I will be visiting three secure sites on all visits along with one sub-contractor.
However they are asking for “comprehensive general liability insurance” and we cannot find any that will deal with when you work in Algeria.
Help ..... before we lose this contract.

Public liability is what you need, a broker should be able to sort it out for you without too many problems. If it is very specialised area you are in they may need access to Lloyds to place it but again they should do that for you either directly or via a secondary broker if they dont have the permissions for Lloyds themselves.

What type of business is it and who provides your liability cover at the moment?

Looks like we might well have to cancel my really good deal currant UK insurance - to get new insurance and put the Algeria work as an extra?:(

A broker will be able to help you.

Algeria will be tricky as most insurers would look at the FCO website which recommends against all but essential travel to parts of Algeria.

Public liability shouldn't be too bad but employers liability will be difficult. Most insurers provide PL and EL together.

    Travel insurance will be challenging.
