No place to go?

We have been given our 2 month notice on our private rented 2 bed flat (our rent is currently 950 a month).

We are 18 months into an IVA, we are currentley talking to our IVA comapny as we cannot afford the ammounts they are taking 350+ a month, our income has gone down and all our bills have gone up. Husbands works full time i am a SAHM (have no family who can help with childcare / my mum died 3 months ago ) We have 3 children

LL gave no explanation as to why we have to move, we have been on the council list for 4 1/2 years. I am suffering with serve depression and my husband also has an appointment to see dr for some help - he is very stressed and is becomming really angrey with me and the kids (totally out of caracture).

Does anyone have any idea what will happen to use? Will they take our children away? I am so worried about everything i dont know what to do. My Doctor says that we wont be on the streets, but we have no money for a deposit (council paid the bond for this flat ) - we barley have enough money left over for food after all bills have gone, and have said they may be able to help us - Been to the housing depattment at the council and they said that 7 weeks is loads of time to find somewhere to go. They called yesterday and offered us a private rented house for 300 more than we are paying now a month and 25 miles away from where we are, we cant afford it and DH would never get to see his children as he would be gone before they wake up and be back after bedtime due to his travel time for work.

i just need to know where we are going to live and am worried about my eldext having to change schools and all the problems that involves - she is very sensertive she will be totally distraught that we have to leave we all love living here ;(

I cant think about anything else - can anyone offer any advice?

Post on the DEbt free board for help with your debts and IVA.

From reading on here it seems the council will advise you to stay put until your current landlord seeks possession through the courts. At this point the council should help. Speak to Shelter or similar about this.
Are you a low income family? Would you get housing benefit towards rent on a more expensive place?

Your children will not be taken from you so you can stop worrying about that.

Sit tight. Your landlord will have to apply to the court for possession and this could take months. Until your landlord gets possession awarded by the court you Local Authority are unlikely to accept you as homeless. They may not accept you as homeless until the court-appointed bailiffs are at the door, so be careful not to vacate until you have secured your onward move or they may deem you to have made yourselves "voluntarily homeless" and then they will have no obligation to help you at all.

Meanwhile keep searching for another property. If you have no money for a deposit you should approach your LA about providing a similar bond to the one they provided for the property you are in now.

No-one is going to take your children away! At the very worst the LA will have to put you in a hostel or B&B accommodation, which may not be what you want or need but you won't be out on the streets.
