Thailand holiday-cash, prepaid card,traveller cheques??help!!

:)Hi

Travelling to Thailand in a month. Just wondering what the best way of taking money is. I have read the best exchange rate is by taking sterling over there and exchanging it locally.
So thinking maybe take half my spennds in sterling and withdraw the other half over there?
I'm with Bank of Scotland, not too sure of charges for withdrawing if anyone can help?
And also, is it true the 2 best pre-paid cards do not deal in anything other than euros and dollars?

Thanks

    Indeed it is.

    No, it is not true.

The best are Cash Passport Globe and Kalixa(for withdrawals over £150).

Metro Bank's debit card is the best card anywhere.

I got to Thailand regularly. I typically load up a Sterling card and use that for ATM withdraws then keep a credit card safe for emergencies. Travellers Cheques are more hassle than they are worth and I don't like carrying big wads of cash.

The only thing to watch out for is that almost all ATMs in Thailand charge BHT 300 to take out cash. That's about £3 so just make sure you take out at least £100 (BHT 5,000) a time.
