Have you tried to google the model in question, to see if anyone else reported similar problems? More to just see if it is an inherent fault, rather than a one off item0

For what purpose? they have already offered a (generous) remedy.Thinking critically since 1996....0

Just found this 1 star review on Amazon!!!
"I bought it to leave in my room but I really regret it.
Firstly it came creased on the top. It heats like heater on the bodywork. If you put your hands on its side you can almost burn they.
It pulls a lot of electricity - every 20 min my computer speakers do a wheezing, and de tv goes mad for a second. I have tested it, and it just happens when the fridge is on.
The door does not close well, and the fridge is not cool enough... It doesn't make ice too.
I' m upset, and I feel stolen."Any information given in my posts or replies is intended to be of interest and/or help to members of the forum. I cannot guarantee that this is accurate or up to date.0 -
Whilst that may be fascinating that is entirely irreverent to the current situation. It may have swayed your decision prior to buying it but you have now had it for a year and they have offered a remedy to your situation.Thinking critically since 1996....0

Hopefully, this new information might help someone here considering buying an Iceking table top freezer?
Also it shows that my fault was not unique.
Finally, I am now wondering if I do want a direct replacement for this unit and will talk to the Co-op about negotiating a unit from a different manufacturer, or possibly a part refund.
