We use Thule ProRide 591 bike racks on the roof of our car which are brilliant.

If you buy the fork mount rack you have the advantage of the bike being more secure and locked down. Also a one wheel bike is less attractive to thieves. But then you have the faff of storing a full sized and possibly muddy wheel in the A3 which isn't the biggest car in the world.

If you buy something like the 591's then I use a U lock and a coil of cable to lock the bike to the rack when parked at services etc.

If going down the fork mount route you could buy a wheel case/bag thingy.

The best roof mounted rack i used had the bike upside down.

Seat slotted into the holder with a small securing strap, The handlebars
rested on the clamps then 2 thumbscrews to secure.

    Solid as a rock.

I also have a quick release fold away towbar fitting rack. Takes less than 10 seconds to fit.

But most cars will need a lighting board with one.
