I'd like to buy a basic piano, that I can plug in and play, and learn some simple songs. Ideally with a xylophone sound, and organ, and I don't want much else.
How does it work? do you click on the program, and it opens and then you can play it? Do you have to install sounds?
I really want the simplest thing I can plug in, and play, very easily. I'm in windows 7 if that makes a difference.
The most important thing for me is that it works. the second is that it's very easy to install and use. the third is that it has a nice xylophone sound. those things in that order. Thanks for your time

Search for "MIDI USB Keyboard". There are plenty on eBay, and generally they come bundled with software - just check whatever it comes with will work with your OS.
There are also ~loads~ of MIDI-based synthesisers available for free, because the MIDI standard has been around for decades.0 -
