Well, I think you should also post this on the loans forum if you haven't already. I haven't heard of the above companies before but they sound very risky and are likely to be a scam so tread carefully. The reason I say this is because no legitimate company will lend you what you can't afford to pay back and may also require a guarantor and as you say some companies will charge extortionate interest.
If your friend is receiving say one disability benefit a legitimate company would look at the incomings and outgoings and work out if they could pay back the loan comfortably not just now but also down the line. Can your friend not claim for the home improvements on their house insurance? And btw if they rent it's the landlords responsibility not your friends. There maybe government help available if your friend qualifies via their disability.
Edit: just had a quick look at the websites, they appear to be payday loans so stay well away.I SUPPORT CAT RESCUE! Visit Cat Chat to support cat rescue too.

I certainly wouldn't touch one of these companies; 9 times out of ten they're brokers and want an upfront fee.
Go to see the council and get some grant forms. Cllrs have a £120k grant that we can use for things like this, and there are other forms of grants available, e.g disability charities.

depending on benefits being received and a perfect credit history a mainstream lender may help,or the friends own bank
what they should never do is use a broker(i assume those mentioned are)as they will be asked for an upfront fee and never see a loan0 -
loans for unemployed people is the scheme launched by the many private lenders to help them out and get rid of financial crisis. As far as your case is concerned, if she can pay the loans amount in some later part of repayment then she can get the loans for unemployed people. To get the loans you can visit here where you will find in details about the process and procedure to apply.0

The poster above me obviously works for the company, loans for unemployed people, and other sites that say they will get a loan for unemployed people are scams.
When you sign up they promise to find you a loan, then you will find £60 or so missing from your account, they will have taken it, quite legally, for the privilege of doing sod all for you, the small print is so small you would have missed the part that says they will take the fee.
Unless you act quickly they will take the same amount every month but will never find you a loan, just tell you they are looking for you, which is what you signed up for.
No reputable company will give a loan to someone on benefits, and even an unreputable one wouldn't lend the amount the OP is asking for, you might get a pay day loan company or the like, offering a couple of hundred or so with astronomical interest rates and you will get just 30 days or so to pay the whole lot back.0 -
