Paris & Eurodisney

Hi
i want to take my son to see Paris and a eurodisney park (he is 11yrs old) during October half term.

Planning on flying to Charles De Gaul Airport.

At least 1 day in the parks. and 2-3 days city sightseeing is the plan, unless anyone thinks more time is essential in the parks?

please can anyone recommend best area/reasonable hotels to stay in which are close to transport links for both Parks and the City?
-best way to book park tickets?
-any other tips most welcome as i just looking into making this idea a reality!
thanks

for one-day park tickets, go onto DISboards for DLP and ask, often there are various French legitimate sites where you can get cheaper day tickets compared to the official DLP site or at the gates of the park. You might only have time for one park (there are 2) on a one-day visit though.

Bussy St George and Val d'europe are both on the main train line to Paris, and are within 5/10 minutes train journey of DLP. They are both safe areas too. I don't know the areas closer to Paris I'm afraid, but again, I'd ask for recommendations on the DISboards.

    Hope this helps.

(oh, the reason I was asking which week your half term is, is that all French schools are on holiday from 27th October, so the end of October/beginning of November will be very very busy at DLP, so I would have advised against going then, full stop.)

Just found out there were 2 parks! Defintely will do park, but might have time for a 2nd, then 2 days of city sights.
What is the best way to travel from CDG airport to these areas, are direct trains or buses available?

do you have any specific hotels that cna be recommended or websites to use for hotel bookings?

    thanks

would love to spend 3 days but planned 4 days in France, plus 1/2 day before we leave. Really want to see the main tourist sights etc so guess we could do 1 or 2 parks but it would have to be quick tour.

from CDG there is a high-speed TGV train (the journey takes 10 minutes, no stops) to the DLP train station. From there, its one stop out on the local (RER) train service from the same station to val d'europe, and 2 stops to Bussy st george. Very straightforward. From both val d'europe and bussy st george stations you go one direction to Paris, the opposite direction to DLP. You can also take a shared shuttle from CDG to the DLP train station, then get the RER out to your hotel area. Theres the VEA coach which will take you to the DLP train station too, but I wouldn't recommend that unless its the cheapest option for you (because its quite a slow way of getting there).

At Val d'europe I'd look at the Adagio aparhotel, the L'elysee val d'europe hotel, Resid'home Prestige, or one of the Accor group hotels in the area.

At Bussy St george there are 3 hotels all in the same courtyard, which are 10 minutes from the train station, and its an easy walk. They are the Premier Classe, the B&B hotel, and the Campanile. There is also a Tulip hotel there, but I don't know exactly where that is in Bussy st george.

If you want to be close to DLP and still get to Paris from the DLP station, there are 4 hotels all in a row served by free shuttle buses to the terminus outside the train station. These are the Kyriad, Dream Castle, Magic Circus and Explorers hotels.

Have a look on various online agents sites to get an idea of price (ie trivago, travelrepublic, alpharooms, expedia etc)

Have you tried pricing a stay at one of their onsite hotels? You can do this quickly on their website. Would recommend staying onsite either at Hotel Cheyenne or Santa Fe just for the Extra Magic Hours you get.

If onsite does not appeal, I would say staying at Val d'Europe is your best bet. There is a cheap and cheerful eTap hotel by the station and a huge shopping mall with an Auchan supermarket; great for food, drinks and snacks. You can travel to Paris quite easily on the RER train from Val D'europe.

I am not sure where you are exactly but have you look at using Eurostar? The travel from Charles de Gaulle, whilst doable, can be a little expensive whilst Eurostar gets you direct there. If you are looking at airport transfers, you can opt for the VEA shuttle (which is a little cheaper but takes a long time) or you can take the fast TGV train which is more expensive but takes 10 minutes from Charles de Gaulle to Marne de La Vallee. The Disney parks is just a short walk from the station.

normally I'd agree that this would be worth looking at, but if you're only going to be spending 2 days in the parks, it won't be worth the money to do a 4 night package onsite (or even a one night/2 day and move on after that). There are no special offers for the OPs dates on the DLP website either really.

Thanks for your information. I was planning to fly from Newcastle via Easyjet. The time i add on trains and eurostar it was not economical, plus overall travel time was longer.
Thanks for the ideas i will look into them and get a agent to price things up too for a comparison.

Is Val d'Europe an area or hotel?
