Do you have a receipt or statement from where you bought them from to scan/email to the buyer?

I thought it was the buyer who had to prove they were fake not you prove they were real?

Depends where they file the dispute.

Is it just me but i found NIKE to be cheaply made anyway. Not enough padding for my liking.

I prefer comfort over the name.

Op, has the buyer opened a case? If not just email them a copy of your receipt.

If they open a case, it depends which one they open as to where you go from here....so come back for more help if you need it.

eBay changed that when they set up their in-house dispute process. Paypal's timetable for a dispute did not match the Trading Standards timetable for providing proof of a fake item and I reckon too many people were getting caught out.

It's really the seller's responsibility anyway to ensure what they sell is genuine, so this is only fair. As long as OP has some proof they will be able to challenge this. Otherwise eBay again tend to side with the buyer - but to be fair, there are an awful lot of people out there who do try to sell fakes or don't know whether their item is genuine or not.

  • Morning. Thanks for your replies.Yes they have opened a case through ebay.Apparently the shoes are hard and inflexible-which make them fake? Is it just a case of showing my statement to ebay to show where they came from? I assumed as they came from a mail order catalogue they would be genuine and I wouldn't need to check before selling them.

Hard and inflexible is normally a good sign! I wonder if his last trainers were fake :rotfl:
  • They say they aren't a novice trainer buyer and their brother works for nike. They have over 10 pairs of nikes and they know a fake when they see one! Wish I had not bothered putting them on ebay now!

Sounds a con mate, brother works for Nike yet he still needs to buy from ebay

I have a feeling if you get him to return them you will get a fake pair back.
