Facebook account hacked?

Had 6 messages on mobile this morning saying "your fb security code is @@####. to verify your account paste this code on page that requests it. TRyed to log into fb...and page comes up asking fvfor code---put in code and it says its invalid or expired. I ask for it to be re-sent-- it then says Ive asked too many times.
I click on more info on the page and it sends me an email...asking me to send them a scan of gov recommended id such as driving licence or passport.--that dosent sound right to me......been all round the help things and have got nowhere....it does state on there somewhere that if my account has been suspended my friends wont be able to see my page -but they can see it..it looks like nothing has been put on my page since last night though. I never click on apps or links--have Avast on laptop...but am worried Ive been hacked or something...any ideas--would fb ask for photo eveidence of me ?
I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....

  • Sounds like it found nothing on there--so does that mean that FB does want a copy of my driving licenece etc to verify who I am before letting me back onto my account. Ive done nothing to be kicked off there for which is annoying here is the log -tMalwarebytes Anti-Malware (Trial) 1.62.0.1300

Have you tried FB on your laptop, I didn't notice at first you said on my mobile...There are a few instances of this cropping up lately , it looks likely that your PC is probably OK , as for the phone way beyond my knowledge:o

DON'T send details of anything (unless you want to lose your houe, your shirt, your shoes, you bank balance ..... etc)!

There's been a few of these over the last week, suggest you do a search for "facebook" and follow them.
  • Well found this email address ---- phish@fb.com sent them an email , tryed to log in my account an hour later...a new code came through on my phone--put it in and hey presto--Im back on there--so looks like it was a genuine security thing from fb....hope the email address is useful for anyone else having problems...thanks for all your help on here though..
