What's this about?
If you work full-time and take your full hour, your lunchbreaks should add up to 240 hours a year - time that could be spent doing useful MoneySaving jobs. So I thought I’d tap MoneySavers’ for their top tips on using lunchtimes productively.
Of course number one is reading the weekly email and scouring the MoneySaving articles, but i would say that wouldn't I
Some examples
How about printing off your bank statements and giving them a good going over, calling up utility providers, or posting things you've sold on eBay? Not forgetting you can save even more by doing this over a homemade sarnie, rather than a posh shop-bought one
All suggestions welcome – press reply to add your ideas.

Here's some of the money saving things that I've been known to do in my lunchhour:
Get someone else to pick up those 1 or 2 items you need from the shop as then you can't be tempted with anything else.
Walk to post office to post stuff that's been sold.
Go for a walk or some other form of exercise.
Catch up with the news by reading newpapers etc online
Make those phone calls which can only be made during business hours (even better if you are allowed to use your work phone)
Check freecycle to see if anything interesting has been offered.
Do online banking.
Running any errands that you can do so you don't have to do them after work / weekend.Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0 -
1. Drive to out of town retail parks - far less busy than a sat/sun
2. Go into town and trawl around looking for bargains (any shops really)
3. Go to supermarket & get bogofs etc on tins & toiletries (not frozen & fresh as can't keep unitl home time!)
4. Clothes shopping - less busy so easy to try stuff on
Basically use my lunches to trawl for whatever purchase I want to make that week/ month and pounce when I see it at the right price (on/off line)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
