Hello

I have been on my local council waiting list for a lottie for some time now and received a letter earlier in the year advising that some additional lotties will be on offer in May this year. Had to complete new application form, done and posted. Did not hear so called and was advised decisions will be made in September for allocation. Now, what I was wondering, is there anything I can do to give myself the edge so I got one of these new lotties? I have offered to be on the 'allotment society' board so far.

Any helful suggestions would be good. Thanks.

Doubt the decision would be anything other than time people have been waiting.
A bit like the housing list.

Nothing - just wait for your name to naturally rise to the top of the list, like the rest of us probably did.

It's unlikely you'd be allowed to join the Allotment Society unless you have actually got a plot, so that will be a waste of your energy.

Best thing to do is to wait patiently.

Regularly contact them asking for updates, ask if anyone may need any help whilst you are waiting, it will give an insight into the amount of work one takes
I pestered a lot and got one within 10 months when there is supposedly a 4 year waiting list
