Vanquis Card Questions

in Credit cards
I just got finished on the phone with Vanquis who approved me for one of their credit cards. The women on the phone was like a robot reeling off all their offers so I didn't get a chance to ask any questions so I'll ask them here.
She managed to sell me identity theft insurance which I didn't want for £6.99 a month but I can cancel within 21 days for a refund so I don't care about that.
My questions are -
What is the typical credit limit you get with this card?
Is it easy to make payments online?
How soon can you get a credit limit increase?
What are peoples experience with Vanquis?
Thanks

Its a subprime card and typical starting credit limits are around £500.
I believe you can apply for a limit increase after 6months and are fairly likely to be accepted if you have run the account well.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I started 2 yrs ago with a limit of £250, this was increased after 4 months to £500
This steadily increased approximately every 4-5 months till I got "gold Card" with limit of £2750
I closed the card soon after as it had done its purpose and I was accepted for a prime card.
I found Vanquis to be a good experience As I used the account appropriately
I would hate to have an experience where you got into problems as the interest rate would be crippling.
Vanquis= A great credit repair tool if used CORRECTLY0 -
Sorry I don't know the answer to your question because I posted the same today! I came off the phone to a man from vanquis today and he said I had been approved and my card would come within 14 days did they not give you any idea of your starting credit limit? they wouldn't tell me and on the website it says it can start as low as £150 which I think is pointless! I am hoping for 400 at the least.0

I have a standing order with vanquis and it works very well for me, I get reminder texts about balance few times a month. If I phone them with any questions they are very helpful as well.0

Reading these forums a typical starting credit limit is £200 to £500. I started with £500.
When you get your card register for eVanquis which is a bit like online banking: An online tool to manage your Vanquis account. You get details of how to register for eVanquis with your card. The first step is to register the card you will be using to pay and after that it's easy to make payments online or by phone.
You are considered for a credit limit increase after your fourth statement mostly if you have used your credit limit without going over-limit and you have paid on time.
They are nice people to deal with provided you keep your end of the bargain. If you don't they'll come down on you like a ton of bricks ... no, make that 10 tons.0 -
Aren't Vanquis part of the Provident group though? And aren't they the same people who go round knocking on doors collecting weekly loans?
Forgive my ignorance if they are not the same.0
