hi,i purchased an item last week and when i checked my paypal account this morning the money had been paid twice for the same item.i rang paypal and they said it was ebay's doing.have sent a screen shot as proof as they have asked me too, they are saying i have only paid once.has anyone had this happen to them?i didn't know that ebay could allow money to come out of my account without my permission.am so annoyed that this has happened.paypal are saying to open a dispute this friday and at worst it could take 30 days for a refund.have emailed seller for refund with no reply.anyone been through this?thought i could trust ebay but not anymore!

I have had buyers who have paid for an item twice by mistake - usually because they refreshed their browser though.
I would have thought that the problem was with paypal not Ebay.
I refunded the buyers straightaway...0 -
i definately didn't pay twice by mistake, paypal told me it was ebays doing.hopefully the seller will refund otherwise i have to open a dispute for item not received even tho there is no 2nd item!0

The buyer gives payment, the seller doesn't charge (as far as PayPal and eBay payments are concerned) so for whatever blip/glitch/error, you sent the payment twice.
Give the seller the two transaction references and they should refund one. Or as you say,you will have to dispute one.....or both if they add tracking to the disputed one (iykwim).0
