I got a box of essentials from my Mum when I started uni. It did not have condoms, but it did have a rape alarm! Thanks Mum... :/
It went off by itself in a drawer one night. The loudest thing I've ever heard. Which is good, I guess. :)

Amazon voucher for a book she finds she needs but can't afford (and if she doesn't need it for a book there are lots of other things on Amazon she can use it for), decent coffee, a couple of/few nice mugs, coffee mate (students are always running out of milk or getting it pinched from communal fridges), couple of nice glossy mags if she likes them as they are likely to be out of her budget, tin opener, box of biros , voucher for phone credit if she's PAYG, Tesco voucher

    I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!

Is she in self catering halls or one with meals provided (some unis still offer both and she may not thank you for a load of storecupbard type stuff if she's not got access to a proper kitchen-and nothing too flash if she does as students do tend to borrow the nicer bits)

If she's eighteen to assume "she's not into boys yet " is a bit unlikely though !!!
