sainsbury "credit care silver" ppi?

Hi, I just wondered if anyone could help or give me any advice.
I took out a loan with sainsburys bank in 2004. I applied online, there was nothing about insurance on there as I recall. My application was accepted and confirmed by a phone conversation. I was working full tome for a tile company at the time the loan was taken out. I was told someone would come to my home with the agreement for me sign, at the time I thought it odd someone would.come to my address but as I needed the money didn't question it. A man in a suit came with his briefcase, confirmed how much is asked for, told me monthly payments but nothing about insurance was mentioned. I just wanted this stranger out and found it quite intimidating (not his manner or attitude just the fact there was a stranger in my home) and felt rushed into signing my agreement. I lost all my paperwork and also changed jobs months later so I ended up paying smaller amounts till I got a better paid job then paid back larger monthly installments. The loan was passed onto eos solutions, also called logic at one point. I paid them for a copy of my agreement and got statements. I still didn't read my agreement properly, i just wanted to pay off my loan. I paid the loan off in 2009, 2 years longer than I would have finished if I hadn't changed jobs. I was going through my old paper work last week to shred old stuff, when I came across the agreement. being older and wiser now, I read it and noticed.something called SAINSBURYS CREDIT CARE SILVER on there. My loan was £4000 and this creditcare was £714 and in a seperate section it says "You apply for the following additional insurance cover" which is.left blank with no amount in it as I know I.wouldn't have asked for ppi. When I phoned sainsburys to ask what this credit care was, they referred me to a number which untill I phoned didn't realise was a ppi helpline. Does this scream out guilt to anyone else? Is it normal for someone to come to your house to sign things? As I do believe if id been sent the paperwork I could have read it thoroughly without feeling rushed. I have put in a claim but am I likely to have any luck as I fell behind with monthly payments? Sorry to go on but just thought the more I've written down, the more info I would get back.
Thanks for reading

Is a bit odd how someone came to your home for the papers to be signed, thought it would have come by post.

There is a seperate section relating to PPI reclaims - you would be better posting any query you have on there -
Reclaim PPI & Other Insurance and there is also a guide on reclaiming PPI which will help you answer whether you are likely to have a case.

Sounds like there is a reasonable chance your claim would be accepted given that you were self-employed at the time and that the paperwork does not appear to be correctly completed.

Having had arrears on a loan does not affect whether the PPI was missold.

Bank of Scotland, Halifax and Sainsburys (half owned by HBOS) used to have an option for a courier to deliver the documents to your doorstep, get your signature and ride away with your agreement.

£35-£70 additional fee for such excitement.

I had to pay for my cheque to be delivered which was £40 but I never got given an option to have the paperwork posted.
