Variations can be made on leases, so it's worht them asking. You never know.:)

I just quoted that website, you silly thing! Many conveyancers only a very limited amount about leasehold disputes, in fact I know more than any local to me!!

ETA in what circumstances were you told that, when buying or selling? If so you are probably thinking of variations made with the consent of both parties such as extending the term or taking on a loft space.
