As many as you like with as many banks as you like providing you stick with the individual terms for each organisation.

Theoretically yes, however some banks may start questioning why you need so many and may fear you're money laundering.

In theory you can have even more with multiple accounts with each provider - as has been said, whether in practice you'd be accepted is another question and likewise some reward style accounts limit you to a set number (to stop you have a hundred of them and bounce the same money around each one to get the "reward")

You can have as many as you want to.

I have a few but each one is with a different bank, as I use them for various things, for example one is my bills account, one is my spending money account and the others I have for the rewards they offer.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

Worth pointing out that quite a few current accounts report to your credit file, whether or not you have an overdraft. I know that Citibank, First Direct, Metro Bank, Halifax, Lloyds TSB all do.

Yes they do for AML reasons, but there's nothing to suggest they have a negative impact on a credit rating if there's no credit attached to it.
  • Well I've got the following,

    1 at Nat West

    2 at Nationwide (1 joint)

    3 at Lloyds TSB (Vantage)

    2 at Halifax (1 Joint)

    1 at HSBC

    1 at First Direct

    1 at Co-op

and I've never been refused a Current Account or asked why I have these accounts.

Got 8, would have been 9 but closed the Santander one weeks after opening. They were that bad, I didn't even wait on the £100 bonus.
