Tax Credits overpayment - question please?

I have received a tax credits overpayment letter in the last few days for £2129.37 which i believe isnt correct

Bit of background so as to help with any answers i may receive - In May 2009 i started a fixed term contract and my wage was £12,575 per annum. The contract ended in May 2010 where i informed tax credits on the day i left that my circumstances had changed & i was signing on. Claim was closed.

In August 2010 i started my present role on a salary of £12,732 per annum , called tax credits who opened a new claim for me and in April 2011 i was informed that i was no longer eligible for tax credits as i was over the 2 yearly threshold (i was told it was £25k ) and that i could re-apply in 2012. I was also informed of a overpayment of £220 which i duly paid. I have not received any tax credits since April 2011.
Fast forward to late July 2012 i received a letter stating that i had an overpayment of £2129.37 and i am unsure why this is. I have always been honest & told of any changes straight away to avoid this type of ball ache:wall:

So I have 2 questions please - the first one - is there a threshold for over a 2 year period? Is so what is the threshold amount? Is it £25k like i was informed?
Question number 2- when does the tax credit year run from ? I am thinking it runs April to April? Is this right?

The threshold is now £10,000 (applied since 11/12).

It would help if you could confirm:

    1. Your total income for 09/10
    2. Your total income for 10/11
    3. Your total income for 11/12
    3. What type of claim was it? (working tax credit only? any children)

What year is the notice to pay for? It should what year the overpayment is on the demand letter

Thanks for the reply. To answer your questions :)

    1 - Total income for 09/10 = £12,575
2 - Total income for 10/11 = £12,732 - When i called to discuss the non renewal i was informed in April 2011 that the threshold was £25k
    3 - Total income for 11/12 = £12,732 - NO payments received from April 2011.

The claim is for WTC , i dont have children and on the letter it states up to April 2012.

ETA - i have received a pay increase which started in January 2012.
