Ill try to explain best i can
Me and OH started new jobs on 12th june 2012. I told tax creds on 13th june and updated our childcare details. 4 weeks later got a letter saying it had been rejected as we didnt provide enough info, although they didnt say what the info needed was
They sent me another claim pack which took a week to come, i also sent a complaint letter and got my mp involved
2nd august, i find my claim is with compliance. they have requested wage slips, contract of employment, bank statements and proof of childcare. all of which were sent yesterday 1st class recorded.
I really want to know how much longer this will take if anyone has any experiance with it. The nursery are on at me, and rightly so as i owe them £1950
Feel we are penalised for working, i dont see how our claim has gone to compliance. we have been totally honest.
Its getting too much now, i suffer with anxiety and this is making me so poorly, not that they care. Will they also backdate to the 12th june?
I have rang them and its like trying to get blood out of a stone. Im soo tired but cant get this out of my mind

I think you are probably going to need to get advice off this board and take your paperwork.
Did you have a claim already when you reporting the childcare and starting work?
Did the rejection letter mention any appeal right? What details did they ask you for when you reported your childcare?
Not much you can do if the claim is with compliance, except send them the documents and contact the person named on the letter directly to ensure the decision is made quickly. If it isn't, go back to your MP and get some pressure put on them.
With regards to backdating it depends on the answers to the questions above. Again, probably you won't get answers here as it depends on all of the papers.

Should they not check the details then and just take your word for it?
I don't really understand what has happened because you initially said you called and reported changes, which indicates you were already been claiming........but you then said the details were rejected and you were sent a new application......??0 -
Sounds to me that you have provided the information relating to your change of circumstances with the annual renewal declaration? Is that right?
Presuming you already had a claim for CTC as you are trying to claim childcare, the date you gave of 13th June would correspond with completing an annual declaration.
It is always best to update all change of circumstances by phone - that way, if Tax Credits require certain information, they can ask for it there and then - hopefully causing less delay to the award being corrected.
There are a number of reasons why your claim may have been referred to the compliance department - with changes to childcare costs (and making claims for new childcare costs) these are possibly one of the most time consuming aspects of a claim to be checked upon - contacting individual childcare providers to ensure the costs being claimed are correct.
Other reasons for a compliance referral is multiple changes in a short space of time for example.
It certainly isnt a case of being penalised for working - that is exactly why the tax credit system is in place - to enable people to work! Like Shedboy says, tax credits just cant take everyones word for what they say their circumstances are, things need to be looked into a little closer sometimes.0
