Online Personal cash payment from Lloyds TSB to Barclays Time Scale

Hello All:beer:

I cant get a straight anser anywhere

Both Our Banks are due in Dundee but my sort code for Barclays shows as for Aberdeen (or thats what the inland revenue told me anyway)

If My Mum were to send money using her ONLINE BANKING from her Years Old Lloyds TSB Current Account to my 1 Week Old Barclays Basic Account:-

How Lomg Will It Take? Will I need to wait Hours? If Days We not going to bother But im hoping its more or less instant, within an hour?

Any help would be greatly appreciated;)

    It should be minutes.

It can be a couple of hours.

It's allowed to be the end of the following working day.

Majority of payments now go as faster ones and should reach the account within 2 hours.

If the faster payment is unavailable then it will reach the recipients account by the end of the following working day. Most banks will advise you if it has been successful and sent as a faster payment also so you know from the offset how it has gone. Faster payments are sometimes unavailable if one of the bank's systems are down or the receiving sort code is unable to receive faster payments in (very rare these days and tends to be bills etc)

Can I find out about if the faster payment function is available before i commit?

Thanks for the advice, its just that on neither of their sites they seem to answer the question and many a google search people are talking many hours and a few days

Its very important I get this money straight away, my relative previously allowing a Job Seeker benefit to be paid into the account. Believe me I am not a leech I cant stand not working and is purely temporary

I had only just began to rent my flat 3 months ago before Things went pear shaped

The Council took a rather large chunk of my JSA last week leaving me £60 to live.

I was lucky to get a budgeting Loan with which white goods and such are badly needed, I was told on Monday This was sent to mums account the prior Friday and was told it would appear wednesday

With the flat being the use fot this cash, priority number 1 Is to generally get essentials sorted ASAP, preferably open of busniness, i have not been to bed.

Total nightmare I chucked the letter with my PIN prematurely, remembered it then 3 days later, ehmmm....:(

So i got a distance as it is to get to the branch. I got online banking setup so the only way to check my balance is this lappy of which battery is a third full. No talk time left to use the tel banking either so im away to put this back on standby so I can check my balance, which is currently £0.00

So are u guys positive it should be instant and worst case scenario a couple hours?. Even the risk of it being the end of the day, im in a jam here, im desperate to get out and sort this so i can get a few hours sleep for a pressing engagement

The Job Center folk told me my sort code (which is DEFINALTELY correct) shows as aberdeen, not dundee. My mum (who stays 10 miles away) her sot code is dundee with no probs and will be using her online banking. Im sure its a normal current account with VISA card (debit i think)

Mine is a BASIC Barclays Account with VISA debit and opened less than 2 weeks ago. I set up online banking.

The cash will be sent prob around 9am earliest

Didnt mean the life story guys, a tad anxious here :p

Ill come back shortly cheers ;)

Don't panic about the location of the sort code they often are listed as the admin address rather than the branch address. As long as it is the one the bank has given you you should be ok.
