I've been a mossie magnet for years - I must be tasty! :rotfl:and this is the only thing that stops them and I;ve tried everything else!!You had me at your proper use of "you're".0 -
Didnt know we got mosquitoes in the U.K, but anyway ive been bittenon my bottom three times, twice on my thigh and once near my ankle. Im starting with the garlic tablets tonight as i cant sleep with the bedroom window shut.0

weirdly I am bite free although my colleagues at work are all covered in the blighters. I do take a garlic tablet daily (for other health reasons) so maybe that is why I am being left alone, I never thought about that before. I even go for a daily walk along the river and frequently get chased by a bunch of gnats but so far so good....
lavender is supposed to be a good bug deterrent - I have a plant right outside my bedroom window. I hate the smell but I used to get bitten so badly I planted it there just in case it would help!"I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." A. I never had that much of a problem in the UK, but here in NL......they're everywhere! I think it's all the waterways.
A holiday in Spain, in October one year, was the worst though. Went to bed the first night, bite free, woke up with bites on feet, legs, arms, hands, stomach, back and 5 on my face!
I did my own version of a bug bomb in that room, with as much as deet containing product as possible, during the next day and managed not to get bitten again after that.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Yes! I've been to a tropical country this year and covered myself (slathered) myself in mossie spray, not 1 bite. CAme back home and I've been bitten to bits, it's horrible0

I'm the same, I'm not normally much a bug magnet but this year its terrible
My left foot and ankle is a complete mess and got bitten badly on my arm last week. I know you're not supposed to scrape the top off and squeeze the fluid out but I did and it made my arm go down quite alot. I had a huge red mark and the skin was so tight it was unbearable.
There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

The past few days I seem to be the food of insects. I have 3 bites on my arm, 2 on my foot/ankle, 2 on my thigh, 1 on my finger and 3 on my hip. All have occurred in different places. At home in bed, on the sofa and at work (office block in central London).
Is it just because it's a warm muggy time of year that I'm getting bitten? I applied insect repellent but I still got bit!
I think first thing I'll do is wash my bedding, but I've only discovered 2 of the bites when in bed. I do have a gap in my window where bugs could come in, and our house is known to have spiders, but I dont know if its spiders or other things biting me! I have 2 double bites f you like. 2 bites next to each other on 2 different parts of my body.
I thought it was because I had a flowy top on in Hyde Park the other day and my jeans were quite low so a flying bug might have been trapped in my top and had a few snacks whilst it was there!
If I wake up with another bite mark I wont be happy!
If youre relatively well covered and wonder how any mozzies managed to get to you, and youve frontlined your dogs/cats yet theyre still scratching --the bites could be Chiggers (Harvest mites) . Theyre terrible at this time of year in some areas, yet we hear little about them . Our rabbit has them at the moment , so as we cuddle him, I suspect our 'mozzie bites' may well be Harvest mites.0 -

If they tend to be double bites, then there's a good chance it's fleas.0
