Want to move Computer to another Room

Here goes.
I have a dell computer in the Living room and the kids have a laptop. I have wireless linksys which i assume lets the laptop work. the Desktop computer ( in living Room ) has a wire running from the NTL ( now Virgin Media )Broadband box going to outside of the house somewhere through the wall. I want to move the desktop to another Room still downstairs tho. Is it possible to run the Desktop off the "Wireless" as well ? Can i do it with out getting an engineer from Virgin Media out and is it hard to do ? we did manage to get the Links's Wireless going with help from you guys on here ( it took us a while )
can anyone help me out ? Sorry i am a bit un tecchie bout things like this ....

    You should be able to connect the desktop to the wireless router by using a USB plug-in wireless adapter or by installing a PCI wireless adapter in its expansion slot. It should be easy and would cost less than £15. If in doubt consult the wireless sticky in the techie forum or post here.

  • I bought the Linksys dongle from Staples, I remember it was mis-priced so I was very happy when I came to pay for it, from memory, it was around £10, but priced at around £17.

    I already had a Linksys router, and to set up the new dongle with the desktop PC was amazingly simple and it was up & running within minutes.

    The item you specified in post#3 is fine and reasonably priced. Any wireless USB Dongle which meets 802.11g standards should be OK, see here for some examples.
