Ideal boiler repair.

If you have an Ideal boiler in dire need of repair it may be worth getting Ideal to do it. They have a fixed price of £245 including parts and labour. (£295 if you want an extended guarantee, and the heat exchanger is NOT covered, it's £170 extra if faulty)
Recently my daughter's boiler developed a well known fault on it's controller board. The local heating engineer (Remloc in Abingdon) reckoned he could not get the part for under £300 plus fitting and suggested Ideal. They came and did the job for £245 and changed a number of other parts as well. - Bargain.
Remloc also recommended for honesty and fairness.
A year later the boiler failed again and this time Ideal said it was too old and didn't want to know. You can't blame them, it was a wreck. Remloc replaced the boiler with a Bosch Worcester unit, their initial honesty won them the work.
