    Thanks jayII

I suppose I will feel embarrassed because I'll be interviewed by HR again, but will obviously have to tailor my interview for the 'officer' post. I will also feel awkward, especially as I know that the Co-ordinator will know that I went for their job!

I have also applied for another job, closing date was a few days ago. I am hoping to get an interview for that one too - hopefully before the 'officer' interview. That job pays less than what I'm on but I know the job inside out and it's a job I would love to do. Either way I like the both jobs that I have gone for.

It's typical, I've been in my job for over 7 years and recently decided to look for a new one and have had 2 interviews in the space of 2 months, with another interview in a few weeks. It is all good experience for me and building up my 'interview confidence'.

I really don't think it matters that you've already interviewed for the other post. They would not have offered you an interview for both posts if they didn't think you were a good candidate.

To my knowledge, tailoring your interview simply involves highlighting those skills you have which are most appropriate to the post in question. It doesn't mean that what you said in the co-ordinator's interview was untrue or exaggerated, just that you're not focussing on those particular skills at this point. The same goes for your motivation for applying for the job, just because you were interested in job A, does not mean you can't be a good, conscientous (sp) and motivated employee in job B.

In your position, I'd try to put the first job and interview out of my mind and focus on preparing to fully sell myself and my skills for the officer's job.

Bear in mind that jobs are meant to be given according to the points you score at interview, so HR's previous knowledge of you shouldn't matter at all.

If you were me, would you go for the interview or not? Or would you feel too embarrassed as it is the same company?
I'd go for it with my head held high, not embarrassed at all!
