Where do i go from here??

Hi all,

Just a bit of advice really as to where I go from here?

My virgin 20 month 0% card recently came to the end of its interest free period andin looking around to transfer to another 0% deal I looked towards the 22month 0% Barclaycard.

I have about £3300 on the Virgin and applied to transfer the full balance to the barclaycard and....... no dice! Rejected :(

Now I've never had bad credit or adverse credit history. Have always met direct debits and have been transfering this debt around on various cards (about 3 or 4) for about 5-6 years without a problem.

Is this something happening more and more now? Where do I go from here? I don't want to just apply for another without checking with you guys who are so 'up' on all this stuff. I don't want to go and get another search and rejection on my file..

Problem is while this goes on I have just had my first month where the minimum payment jumped from £30 up to £70 where 40 of that is just pure interest :/

Really appreciate any help.

EDIT: Just another thing that might be important. I am moving from my 18k job to one that is minimum 3 year contract at £26k in September. Would it be an idea to wait until that new wage comes in before applying elsewhere? Or? I jsut don't know where to go

Whilst a higher wage might help a credit application a recent job change could outweigh that as a negative.

You say you have transferred this debt around a few times - do you still have any of the previous cards open but unused? if so you could see if any of those might offer you an existing customer deal - either low life of balance or a 0% deal.

Do you have other debts in addition to the £3300? do you have a lot of available credit open to your on various cards etc?
The banks are certainly being generally more careful with opening new credit accounts - especially when looking at affordability etc.
