Sorry I am not sure I understand.

I am assuming this was a BIN auction and you have bought and paid for the goods using paypal- therefore why do you think selelr is going to charge you more. I have no idea what sort of jackets you are talking about (i'm obviously far too old for modern stuff!) but if they wer every cheap you have probably bought fakes. Just check you bought from a UK company as if you bought from outside the UK then you may well have to pay customs , duty and handling charges when they arrive.

    OK, I found this listing:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-MENS-FLY-53-LEATHER-LONG-SLEEVED-HOODED-RIBBED-CUFF-HEM-JACKET-SIZE-M-XL-UK-/180869589610?pt=UK_Men_s_Coats_Jackets&var=&hash=item2a1caaea6a

If it is that then it looks oK< but I wonder if it really is leather- I would suspect it is the PLU stuff.

If it is a mistake, there is a cunning difference in the law between a fixed price sale and an auction.

The end price of an auction is a binding contract in law - the buyer has to pay but the seller has to honour the winning price.

As I understand it when this question has come up on the community boards, there is a slight difference which makes a fixed price item 'an invitation to treat' and therefore the seller is free to reject the price.

On eBay it is a foolish seller who does so because of the nature of sanctions for non-performance. But in ordinary retail, a mistake by a seller can be rectified at the till when the seller notices they have underpriced an item.

The seller cannot force you now to buy the items at an increased price. But they can refund you and refuse to sell at the mistaken price without legal penalty.

However, given eBay rules, they may have to weigh up whether selling expensive jackets for that amount each is worth the negs you will probably give them, as well as the associated low DSRs and non-performance reports.

Personally in this situation I would, as the buyer, accept a request to cancel and not leave poor feedback, given the legal situation. The seller has obviously noticed your bulk purchase and realised what has happened.

However, it's up to you. If you don't receive either your items or a refund, or the seller tries to force you to pay the proper price without allowing you your legal rights to cancel the sale, you can obviously still open a case for non-receipt and neg etc.

Sellers often put the price up to a ridiculous level when they are out of stock. This is usually to keep their position in best match. The price will drop when they get new stock.
