as you are such a intelligent person would you like to quantify what is not rubbish?
May be then you can add to the conversation/discussion with a qualitative and quantitative arguement and imput?

as most people with any understanding would have contributed to the discussion, rather than an inept attempt of making someone who has an understanfing look like a fool.

Sorry, but who looks like a clown now?

I used to be responsible for signing off all the CDL applications in my county (no longer a requirement) and I can assure you that career prospects and future earnings have never been the criteria for acceptance of an application.

I also fail to see how " Another option for the "friend" is to speak directly to the post-graduate/student union at the University as some have funding streams for exactly this problem" can be true as funding for the last year of an undergraduate degree is hardly a post grad issue.

You have experience of your specific situation but many of us have a much wider knowledge of student funding in general and we do not like to see people putting forward inaccurate information.
  • the exact problem is "HND to Degree" for which there are streams held within a universty to allow this to happen. It allows some students to gain a degree after doing a a HND.

postgrad issue as the individual has a Masters (sometimes not all and very rare there are funding streams as a postgrad OP's employment is prevented due to the lack of first degree). Regardless, of what people say on this board every and I mean every funding possibility should be explored.

Is it really going to hurt someone to try? and you may have experience within the banking industry but students are shocked when they enquire as to how much funding streams a university, postgrad and students union have access too.
In my experience limiting your questions to undergrad funding is silly as the op is a postgrad. the OP can use two points of attack to get answers and should atleast enquire. The OP has no funding so a "no" does not change a thing as they are in the same position.

I don't have experience in banking, my experience is in education and guidance.

There's no harm in anyone enquiring about anything but it's wrong to give people false hope; the idea that a university has funding streams for such an unusual situation is ludicrous.

You seem to be in ignorance of the recent changes to funding for ELQ students. As an example,

"Examples of who is affected by the new rules:

Someone with a Bachelors degree (e.g. a BA or BSc) who wants to study for another Bachelors Level course
Someone with a PhD degree who wants to study for a Masters level course
In the above examples the students are taking courses which are equivalent to / lower than qualifications that they already hold. For this reason the students will pay the ELQ-status fees." Sunderland
