Payment unclaimed, seller's email wrong?

Bought an item over a week ago, immediately paid via Paypal. The payment has languished there 'unclaimed' ever since.
I have cancelled and resent. Emailed the seller several times. He seems clueless as to what's happening.
To me it seems as if his email address (name altered):
joebloggs12345@brinternet.com
Should be:
joebloggs12345@btinternet.com
He seems sure that all his details are correct...
So my query more out of interest than worry is whether I could fall foul of an NPB strike if this doesn't get resolved.

If he is daft enough to try an NPB then you can appeal it using the paypal transaction details of your unclaimed payment. An even easier way should a claim be opened is to pay, as that closes the disptue automatically, and then claim your money back again.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I had the same thing happen to me, bought an item last week and the payment was unclaimed in paypal and the seller said they hadn't received my payment. I contacted Paypal and this is part of their response which I then forwarded to the seller who then resolved it and I received my item today.
Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding your unclaimed payment as per Transaction ID xxxxxxxxxxx.
Please note that your payment was sent to xxxxx@yahoo.com which means this was the email address used by the seller in their eBay listings.
In these instances, you need to inform your seller of the exact email address your payment was sent to and advise them that they need to confirm this email address to their PayPal account to receive your payment.
These are the possible reasons why your payment is 'Unclaimed':
1. Recipient has not yet confirmed their email address.
2. The recipient’s has incorrectly entered their email address on their eBay listing
An ‘Unclaimed’ payment is automatically returned to the sender after 30 days, if it is not claimed by the recipient.
Might be worth doing the same ?0
