When a site says Trade only, what does this mean ?...you have to be in that Trade (and if so how do you prove this) or does it just mean you have a ltd company or are sole trader ?

It means you have to be a tradesman. Whether you are a limited company or sole trader is irrelevant. If it is for say kitchens, a tradesman could be a carpenter joiner, kitchen fitter, builder, decorator, tiler, plumber, electrician etc.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

it depends on the company
some of them let you join so long as you have a business card, even if it's totally irrelevant trade0
