Paint bath handles??

Hello

My Dad & I both have the same problem with the handles on our baths, so I'm hoping someone out there has experienced the same thing and can help! The handles have gone tarnished and pitted - mine are the gold/brass effect and my Dad has the chrome. We are unable to replace them without taking out the existing bath, so were wondering if there was any kind of paint, or polish which would make the marks less noticeable? It is obviously a huge job to take out the baths, so would really appreciate any ideas anyone has.

Thanks
Lauren

you might not have to remove the bath at all.
take off the side panel and remove the handle nearest to you. that should be simple enough.
the far one will require some sort of extension to your screwdriver bit or socket set if it has a nut/bolt fixing?

do you really need the handles?
if not, then just cut them off and replace with rubber bungs?
    Get some gorm.

    Hello ormus,

Thanks for your reply. I had just assumed we would have to take out the bath to be able to reach the far handle, but I'll take the panel off and see if there's any other way of reaching it. I'd much rather replace them with new ones! Thanks again.
