Maybe the issue is that you don't have much at all on your credit file? Just a phone contract with a couple of red dots signifying late payments? Lenders steer clear of people without much history as well as those with bad history.

If the phone is pretty much all the recent credit you have then that could be your reason for being seen as high risk.

I had a couple of late payments on my phone bill ages ago but thats it and it said my credit was fair so i thought i would have a chance of getting a loan/credit card. I thought I had a really bad credit file because I have always been turned down for things in the past but experian said 'i had no recent searches' as i hadnt tried for credit for about a year.

LISTEN you were told your credit rating was FAIR from a company that doesn't lend money. Now can you PLEASE stop running on about a credit agencies worthless score.

Have you actually looked at your credit report detail? not the score but the credit history etc?

What does is show? what credit accounts do you have showing on this?
Are you financially associated with your partner on your credit report - what is his credit history like?

Lenders are likely to think you might struggle to repay a loan of £3k - £4k based on your low income.

You mention needing £500 for a deposit - is this a rental deposit? Do you have an overdraft? have you asked your bank if they would consider offering you an overdraft?

How long would it take you to repay the £500? how much can you afford towards it a month?

Oh, just stop feeding the trolls. The story changes with each attempt to pin it down.

Will not be kids as they can not string a sentence together....
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
  • Weighing everything said so far, and not wishing to be judgemental it seems like you have very little experience of finance in today's world. Credit and getting a loan is not a right. If you are truly desperate for this loan you'll do anything, and (as has been pointed out) get stung. Time to reappraise the situation I think. No-one here is going to produce a silver bullet I'm afraid.
