How do I back-up Outlook Express messages?

I'm about to restore a PC at home which is used with Outlook Express - it has many many emails but I can't find a way to back these messages up to restore them once I've restored the system.
Tried File > Export but the only options are for Outlook or Exchange - nothing for exporting to a file. How's it done?

if OExpress works the same as normal Outlook, then simply save the outlook.pst file. You'll find it in My Docs, Local Settings, Microsoft, Outlook (or something very similar to that).
It's in a hidden folder so to view it, in Windows Explorer click Tools, Folder Options, View then under 'Hidden files and folders' click on 'Show hidden files and folders'
That should do it ^^"The reasonable man adapts to the world,

Outlook Express uses the extension .dbx
To back these up, start a search, select all files and folders (and then under more advanced options tick hidden files and folders and subfolders) and type in *.dbx in the search field.
In the results page, you can then copy these, e.g. into a new folder etc and then back up onto CD as required.
Any problems, let me know.0 -
In Outlook express - Click Tools , Options, Maintenance, Store folder and it tells you where all the messages are stored. If you want to change the Store folder, you can and back it all up,
