Can branch managers overule credit scoring

Hi there, was just wondering if actual branch managers can overule credit scoring for a current account, or do they have to comply with "computer says no"

I was just wondering, as I do have a good relationship with my bank manager, but dont want to pressure him, if its not his decision, and its head office, as my score is a bit low just now, Thanks

How do you know your credit score is low? Have you seen some internal scoring sheet from your bank?, or do you mean the fake scores from Experian etc?

They may be able to refer it, depending on bank etc
    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.

In the Mainwaring days they probably could but branch managers these days are just sales people.

Off subject I was watching a documentary last week about shop lifters and they even caught a bank manager steeling an £80 shirt and his defense was going on holiday.

It depends on which bank it is. Most high street banks they have no underwriting authority and so cannot over rule it but managers and "premier" relationship managers may help form an appeal to the relevant department.

One of the key draws for the private banking sector is the fact that in branch staff actually still have underwriting authority and so you can speak to the people that are making the decisions rather than just message passers.
